Meet Chris Faulds

Chris Faulds is the owner of Fussy Meats, operating butcher shops in Applecross and Cockburn, and now expanding with his new bakery in Yangebup.
With over 28 years in the butchery trade—including 22 years leading the Fussy Meats team—Chris has built a reputation for blending traditional craftsmanship with modern sensibilities. Fussy Meats is renowned for its commitment to ethically farmed, free-range meats and its strong “paddock to plate” philosophy.

Chris plays a central role in delivering this quality and ethos to the Perth community. Over the years, he has earned numerous awards and trophies, including guiding his apprentices to achieve “Apprentice of the Year”. Passionate about nurturing young talent, Chris is dedicated to revitalizing the butcher trade and making it “cool again.”
He has led many meat demonstrations and hospitality collaborations, showcasing live butchery skills, pairing meats with wines, and partnering with well-known industry figures to create unique meat experiences.




For more than 14 years, Chris has partnered with the Noktuml Group, traveling across Australia and catering at major events, including Oktoberfest in the Gardens and various pop-up festivals.
Chris also serves as an active member of the WA Meat Council under the Australian Meat Industry Council (AMIC) and holds a position on its National Retail Council. In these roles, he represents Western Australian butchers at a national level, helping to ensure state-specific issues are addressed and WA’s voice is heard within national industry policy discussions.
